CARISSA RAPOLTHY, DIRECTOR, URBAN STRIKER

 

Carissa graduated at Stellenbosch University with a B.Com Management Accounting, with an additional marketing major.  After 10 years in the industry, having worked and lived in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, Carissa founded Urban Striker in August 2011, and has managed to successfully build a solid base of clients offering them a national service (9 provinces).

 

 

 

 

LEIGH ZAYMES, SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

 

Leigh has 5 years activation and events experience, as well as spending 6 years as sponsorship coordinator at PUMA SA which included managing the SA team at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics and the PUMA teams during the IPL in SA.

 

JACQUILINE UYS, SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

 

Jacquiline has 6 years activation and events experience, having started out as a promoter while studying hotel management at  Varsity College.  She was part of the events team at Upper East Side hotel before she joined Urban Striker.

 

 

 

AMY MCKINLEY, PROJECT MANAGER

 

Amy has 4 years experience in promotions, having starting out as a promoter herself.  She also managed a travelling carnival for 2 years before joining Urban Striker. Amy was promoted to Project Manager after 18 months at Urban Striker.

 

 

 

 

 

LIKHO NDZUNGA, PROJECT COORDINATOR

 

Likho is currently studying a national diploma in Public Relations.

Likho was one of Urban Striker’s first promoters, and with 3 years experience she joined the team in October 2012.

 

 

 

 

 

CARRYN BEARD, PROJECT COORDINATOR

 

Carryn graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2011 with a B.Com Industrial Psychology. While doing her honours through Unisa in Business Management, Carryn traveled the world while writing her thesis in her final year.  Carryn worked in retail during her studies, and has chosen marketing as a career path and joined Urban Striker in Feb 2014.

SIBUSISO MAHLANGU, PROJECT COORDINATOR – JHB

 

3 years activation and events experience.

Sbu started out as a promoter while studying Entrepreneurship at UJ.  He was also the events coordinator at The Shack and is a DJ in his spare time.

Events: Castle Lager Braai Day

 

Urban Striker and 34 broke a Guinness World Record for Castle Lager for the Most People Braaiing Simultaneously across 5 locations.

 

Urban Striker managed the Cape Town event at SAB Newlands with 1500 people attending, and 900 consumers participating in the Guinness World Record attempt, as well as managed the Durban event with over 3500 consumers of which 450 participated in the Guinness World Record attempt, despite the rain experienced throughout the day.

 

US and 34 were instrumental in the planning and logistics around the criteria for a GWR attempt.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Events: ENRC Mining Indaba

 

Urban Striker has managed and set up a networking cocktail function for UK based Mining Company, ENRC, for the past 2 years during the annual Mining Indaba.

 

Each year the event drew over 350 guests, despite being on the same night as the official gala dinner for the Mining Indaba.

 

 

Events: ABSOLUT Black Box

 

Urban Striker, in partnership with 34, managed and set up the Absolut Black Box events which showcases Transformative Art through 4 different forms of art. These forms of art include Photography, Fashion, Street Art and Music.

 

The campaign kicked off with brand Activations taking place in the top 20 key outlets across the country and ended in an invite only event being hosted in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Brand Activation: REDD’S

 

Urban Striker has implemented more than 5000 sampling activations across the country over the past year in various specialist liquor outlets, taverns and bars, as well managed the logistics, set up and implementation of 500 Photobooth activations.  To date we have reached in excess of 170000 consumers.
